I started this book a long time ago. I was deployed and working through the process of understanding myself and the nature that surrounds anyone who serves beside operators. I was not one of them, but I lived in their orbit and saw the weight they carried. I wanted to share those stories with a level of passion that would pull you straight into the world I knew.

Scott and Billy grew out of that experience. They are two men every service member can recognize, shaped by cold nights, real missions, and moments that stay with you long after the noise fades. Black Ice was born from those memories, from the people I served beside, and from the truths that never leave you once you have lived them.
